Puppy Socialization and clicker training for adolescent and adult dogs, kitten classes, behaviour consults and workshops.

My studies and career path started in the field of human behaviour, working primarily with youth at risk. However, my love of four legged creatures led me to change direction towards all things related to animal behaviour. I was volunteering in shelters when I recognised a real need for behaviour practitioners, both for the animals in the shelters and for post-adoption support. I therefore embarked on obtaining my qualification as a companion animal behaviour practitioner through COAPE SA.

I am an internationally qualified and accredited animal behaviour practitioner and trainer. I also manage ThinkingPets, who offer training courses for people wanting to become a puppy or kitten instructor and lecture and tutor for the prestigious COAPE SA Diploma, where I thoroughly enjoy teaching students in a subject I am so passionate about.

I currently sit on the management committee of the Randburg SPCA and consult as a behaviourist to several shelters, including Kitty and Puppy Haven, Labrador Rescue, Spaniel’s in Need and Ridgeback Rehab.

Much of my time is spent consulting in private practice.  My love and interest in natural medicine for animals and humans, has led me to grow and source many unusual medicinal plants.

I run a training school called Puppy Playground that offers Puppy 1 and Puppy 2 classes. We offer Etiquette 1 and 2 for Adolescents and Adults, which helps dog owners teach their dogs the basic manners they need to live happily with their owners. Rehabilitation training for dogs that have behavioural issues is a huge passion of mine and I therefore also offer reactive dog training for dogs that are reactive to people and other dogs. Of course not forgetting cats, I run Kitty Playground which offers Kitten classes.
